Announcements

The announcements capability allows you to send a message to a list of phone numbers simply by placing one phone call to the system. Unlike some similar systems, this program can also send an announcement to only a given subset of your list. By defining characteristics and marking the members of your list with them, you may mix and match the phone numbers that receive any given announcement.

For example, you have a civic organization and wish to contact either the entire membership or only the board of directors. You could create a characteristic, say with ID 1, called "board member". You would then mark the board members in your list with this characteristic. Then, when you want to send an announcement to everyone, you simply send it in the normal manner without associating a characteristic with it. If you wanted to contact only the board member, then you would associate characteristic 1 with the announcement, and it would go only to board members.

Suppose you want to maintain multiple lists of customers. You have one list of customers for your store in San Antonio and another for your McAllen location. You would create two characteristics, say 1 for San Antonio and 2 for McAllen. Then upload each list with the appropriate menu selection, choosing its characteristic while doing so. In the end you are able to notify customers from either store by specifying that store's characteristic, or from both stores by not specifiying a characteristic at all.
