Scheduling

The scheduling capability allows you to post openings to the system. These openings can optionally have any characteristics you might want to define. The system then automatically sends emails and places phone calls, trying to match these openings with people in your list with similar characteristics.

Probably the best illustration of this sort of system is the scheduling of substitute teachers. Openings can be posted, say for a given grade level and school, and the system will contact only those substitutes who have expressed an interest in the given grade levels and locations.

A typical school system might set up characteristics 1 - 3 for elementary, middle, and high schools, 50 - 55 for the major subjects (English, Math, etc.), and 100 - 120 with one characteristic for each school. A typical opening would have characteristics 2 (middle school), 51 (Math), and 110 (for a given school), and only substitutes exhibiting a preference for all three of these characteristics would be contacted. If things are a little more informal, then the system can be told to contact substitutes with _any_ of the desired characteristics.

A home health care service might be another good example. Let's say that all nurses are equally qualified, but the geographical area is large. Openings can be posted with characteristics indicating which city or area is represented, and only nurses wanting appointments in those areas will be contacted.

You may allow users to change their own characteristics if you wish, or this may be controlled by the administrator only.
